Culture Bully Presents: 2010 Mashed

For the third year in a row Culture Bully presents Mashed, a retrospective mashup collection combining elements of the year that was, represented by the efforts of a hodgepodge of bastard pop producers from around the world. This year’s edition features 10 fresh tracks for you to help kick off the new year. Each track is available below as an individual download, or as included in a ZIP of the entire album. Additionally, if you’d simply like to press play and let the music play out, a Soundcloud mix is available below that cuts out the breaks and unravels as one continuous track.

I honestly have never been that big a fan of mashups (Not even Girl Talk), but I have a very eclectic taste in music, just as all of you apparently do too.
This is outstanding though! My ears have been exposed to a lot of music in my short life, so you can consider me an amateur music snob. I’ve just started my blog over the past 1 1/2 months, and really got things going when I did my Best Albums of 2010 over the last 16 days of the year, which had a snippite from an actual critic, then a brief overview by me of each album. Wish I started that earlier, but now I’m focusing on doing 2-3 new releases a week with a lengthier more detailed review of my own.(All will be albums that I like or find worthy of hearing, because I could run into some trouble if I diss something before the release date). I’m posting “2010 Mashed” this week, and you’ll find nothing that wouldn’t persuade someone to buy it in the write up.

Like I said, I’m not pretending to be a pretentious know it all critic, and am doing this blog for both more well known artists in the music world, and more importantly for very under the radar artists that I know or discover.(Binghamton has a decent size music scene, with some artists that have actual potential and need exposure.)

*Oh, anyone feel free from NYC such as Mover Shaker to send me a message if you interested or wouldn’t mind driving 4 hours up to Binghamton sometime. I can try to see if can get you to perform at Binghamton University, or for a giant house party/loft with a lot of space if you’d be willing too.(Hope I don’t seem arrogant for asking that)

Thanks, I’ve now found the awesome potential of mashups, and some great music and ideas for getting everybody stoked and moving for good times and celebration, which you can never get too much of.

    • Thanks for checking the site out Tomas – glad you found some music you can get into. I feel you on the tip of how mashups can be hit or miss (I say this without trying to offend, but there were 141 tracks included in the voting for the best mashup of the year this year, and the majority didn’t appeal to me at all), but there are definitely some people out there making some good music in the genre still. Best of luck with the site.

whohoo! excellent compilation. thanx for having me!

  • Epic Awesomeness Lol Foreal I Really Like It Walking On Celestica Best Part!!! :D

  • The 10 tracks zip file is some kind of EXE file that won’t work with my Linux box. Any alternatives?

    • Never mind I clicked on the wrong download button.

I stumbled on this site from newspaper, Toronto Star’s “The Anit-Hit List”. What a surprise :D Awesome mashups!

    • awesome – thanks for checking things out M!

I really really love this album!!! Can you download each song individually then? To save only a few songs, and not download the whole zip file.

  • absolutely Zuzu – if you’re on a PC, simply right click on the song title and click save as/save link as… on a Mac I believe you press Ctrl+click the song title

    • Thank you!
