Amazing Baby “Headdress”
I went fishing for some good bands to try and catch at SXSW this Spring, and after casting my line into the soup I, quite randomly, reeled in Amazing Baby, a promising new foursome out of (where else?) Brooklyn. They are currently giving away their EP for free on their website, and it’s definitely worth a listen if you miss the good old days of Glam Rock (I do sometimes, even though I wasn’t alive for them). “Headdress” is proving to be my favorite so far—a spaced out guitar jam, at times reminding me of early 1970′s Bowie. It features a twisty electric guitar chorus, fuzzed out effects pedals, and ethereal, almost tender vocals. If Max’s Kansas City were still around you can bet that they would be playing there.
