Amy and her band stole the Grammy Awards Show. Literally!!!!
Amy is not nicely packaged up like most young performers. That is part of her appeal. She is unpredictable, raw, talented, and sexy and is going to do it (life) her way. Like the title of her album “Frank” did.
I have never been taken by an artist like this. I have listened exclusively to her music for two solid months now. In this day of homogenized “Idols”, she is not only a breath of fresh air but a savior to a music industry that was sorely in need of some non-conventional sounding fresh talent. I doubt I will ever grow tired of her!

surprisingly she put on a solid performance
not to take away from winehouse herself, but i think it’s pretty telling that mark ronson won “producer of the year” (over timbaland, i might add). the kid produced all the best songs on winehouse’s album and deserves a lot of credit for making that album as good as it is.
and that’s one reason i didn’t like this performance. the band tried to give it a little different flavor but it really wasn’t working for me.
Indeed she did steal the Grammys…the only moment that I’ve seen (non-musical) that I’ve enjoyed was that of her reaction to Record of the Year…kind of funny to see her jaw drop like that! I don’t know that her album is as amazing as a whole as it’s made out to be, but along those same lines its far from underwhelming. Amy is an oddity, that’s obvious – unfortunately her habits may hinder her from a prolonged career…no matter how much help she gets from Ronson.
I stand by what I said over a year ago in that she is deliciously sexy and trashy. A walking trainwreck that is definitely going to be hot for at least w little while longer.
