Ani DiFranco announces three MN dates on Fall tour
Along with Santigold, the Dirty Projectors, St. Vincent and Katzenjammer, Ani DiFranco was chosen by David Byrne to play his curated tent at this year’s Bonnaroo in June. Byrne recently spoke of the selection process and his decision to stick with these five particular acts, “I kind of self-imposed a little bit of restrictions… There might be somebody’s recording that’s musically great, but… you know, outdoors on a hot summer night or late afternoon in Tennessee, sometimes the music is just not going to work, as much as you might love it.”
Not feeling that summer Tennessee heat? In September DiFranco will be heading out on a brief nine-date tour of the Midwest where she’ll be performing three dates in Minnesota. In the event that you are feeling up to the summer Tennessee heat however, this year’s Bonnaroo lineup is loaded and will also feature the likes of featuring Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, a pair of sets by Phish, Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Wilco, David Byrne, Public Enemy, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Elvis Costello (to name just a few).
