The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. And not having enough sound has never really been a problem for the group, and it certainly wasn’t on this evening as the band tore through a fiery 90 minute set that spanned the band’s entire career.

Army of the Pharaohs “The Unholy Terror” update

Submitted by Tim Althaus on October 21, 2009 – 3:20 pm13 Comments

army of the pharoahs terror

Army of the Pharaohs is a collective that originated out of Philadelphia in 1998 under the guidance of Jedi Mind Tricks’ front man Vinnie Paz and they’re now prepping the release of their album The Unholy Terror. Their first album, The Torture Papers, was a stellar release, but many fans were disappointed their last effort, Ritual of Battle, as Apathy was nearly nowhere to be found on the record; many fans will be pleased to know that Ap is back on board for the release of The Unholy Terror however.

With that being said, we have two new tracks for you to sink your teeth into. The first is called “Godzilla,” and it features Celph Titled, Jus Allah, Apathy, Vinnie Paz, Planetary & King Magnetic. After listening to to it I can only come to one conclusion: Jus Allah needs to get his Violent By Design flow back. I haven’t been feeling Jus at all since. On the second track, “Contra Mantra,” Crypt the Warchild, Celph Titled & Esoteric all spit lines over DC the Midi Alien’s eerie beat. [via 2 Dope Boyz]

Tracklist? Please jus allah cant be on many tracks, please please!

  • Alteez says:

There hasn’t been an official tracklisting release yet.

  • Jrotten says:

look at these jus allah haters…he raps better than u ever will be able to

  • Alteez says:

I don’t rap, so that’s not too hard. I’m not hating on Jus as an emcee; in fact, in the Violent By Design era he was my favorite emcee. He changed his style and delivery almost to mimic Vinnie’s style. All I’m saying is he’s not as good has he was on Violent By Design.

  • Anon says:

I also do not rap. This does not mean that I do not have ears to listen to and leave an opinion on those that do rap. Jus Allah came hard on violent by design, however im sure a large percentage of fans would agree he is not on that level right now (see A History Of Violence). Alot of the AOTP MC’s are at their peak (King Syze, Celph, Outerspace, etc). Dont get me wrong, I am not a hater and I would love it if he came through the Unholy Terror album and smash that ish up!

  • Anon says:

Oh yeh, add Doap Nixon to that list.

  • Alteez says:

Exactly how I feel Anon. It just seems like something is missing with his rhyming.

  • D-Roc says:

yeah u guys make sense but he switched it up to be more raw and im feelin his new style alot more. he kills it in every track.

  • T-C says:

I agree. Every bar Jus Allah spits starts with “I am, I, or I’m” I hope the new albumis more of “Godzilla” than “Contra Mantra” The less hooks the better. STICK TO YOUR ROOTS, AOTP!

  • cod5y says:

why were people disapionted about ritual of battle? sure it would have been nice to have ap but its still a completely sick album

  • pushaton says:

Jus Allah is alrite….Vinny Paz is the shit, period. A fuckin beast baby.

  • jsox says:

    jus allah is jus garbage.

    i am dumb
    numb
    i hum
i stik my thumb in my bum

    serously dude

wtf, dr. suese wants his rhymes bak.

his rhyme scheme NEVER changes ever. and i do emcee, so yes i can critique.
vinnie is pretty much predictable with his rhymes as well, but so was tupac. i can feel vinnies shit, because of the way he rides the beat. its simplistic, but its fluid. jus sounds like hes screaming the cat in the hat constantly, period, end of story.

  • cod5y says:

yeah jus allah sucked on godzilla too. i wanna see some more reef on this album. any one know th release date? i heard november 24th a couple times but a few people just told me it got pushed to feburary 16th.
