The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. And not having enough sound has never really been a problem for the group, and it certainly wasn’t on this evening as the band tore through a fiery 90 minute set that spanned the band’s entire career.

    I’m going to steal some commentary from a man I’d like to call a friend, though I have yet to meet in person, “The video kind of walks the line between cool (I think we should see more gay and lesbian couples in videos, TV shows, movies, whatever… that’s great) and exploitative (they’d never put out this same video with two men).” – El Guante

    Once the seed was planted I started to think of it in that way…though I still tend to watch it, seeing two babes…with me smiling. It’s a flaw I have when I see beautiful women.
