Thanks to AOL Indie for giving me the low down on the upcoming release of Bad Brains Live at CBGB 1982 in which features some of the songs performed over three nights beginning Christmas-eve 1982, all of which helped celebrate and kick off the American Hardcore Festival. Typically I look at Bad Brains as one of the key elements to modern rock. The Dillinger Escape Plan’s ultra-testosterone driven live show, for instance, is derivative of something that Bad Brains were apart of starting. A few years ago a friend introduced me to Affront, crediting them with one of the best Bad Brains covers he had ever heard. I tend to agree and hopefully you’ll celebrate the release of this historic piece of footage as much as I do…and also, I hope you like this song.
