The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. And not having enough sound has never really been a problem for the group, and it certainly wasn’t on this evening as the band tore through a fiery 90 minute set that spanned the band’s entire career.

Beck on Saturday Night Live 10/28/06

With his latest album, The Information, Beck has once again transformed himself as an artist as he transitioned his persona even further into that of a musician in the dark ages of electro-blues. Beck V9.0 has assembled a team of utensil-players and marionettes to join in on his venture through the galaxy which stopped in to the NBC Studios last weekend for a few songs on SNL. All is well in Beck land; yes, all is well.
