As I came out, they were playing ‘A Sunday Smile’ by Beirut and I HAD to buy the CD. The only keepers on the cd are Nantes and a Sunday Smile but OH what keepers!
They start out simple but flood the sences with sound on the coda—amazing!!!
So I’m thinking Neo-Psyedelic WorldBeat—CAKE meets Les Verdes Negresses on French ‘Shrooms. I’m thinking the Singer is Balkin or Morrocian and living in France and he doesn’t speak a word of English.
