While I can firmly say that I hope this isn’t the direction the Strokes go, Phrazes for the Young is a strong statement by an artist who clearly isn’t afraid to take chances.

But you’re right, he was wicked-bettah with the IC (probably more with the live stuff than Burn to Shine, come to think of it)
Still enjoyed Number with No Name quite a bit though
