BLK JKS are a nearly unclassifiable four-piece rock band from South Africa. Much like how the band is all over the map on their recorded output, the band played a wildly diverse and entertaining set Thursday night at the Cedar Cultural Center to open the venue’s Global Roots Festival. The band touched on funk, jazz, fusion, pop, jam-band-like noodling and folk; much to the delight of the good sized opening night crowd. Culture Bully was there and was able to catch some videos from the band’s excellent 70 minute set.
