Bob Dylan “When The Deal Goes Down” Video

It seems everyone is buzzing over the video because of Scarlett Johansson acting as its character in focus. And why not, she’s beautiful and talented and this throwback vignette showcases not only her ability to encapsulate a different time, but it gives Dylan’s “When The Deal Goes Down” even more of an “America The Beautiful” feel. Does this remind anyone else of The Sandlot?

There are quite a few people in Canada quite sure that Dylan is taking credit for a Muddy Waters tune on this album… heard any of the talk?

  • haven’t seen it yet but looking forward to it

  • “When the Deal Goes Down” is based on the melody of “Where the Blue of the Night (Meets the Gold of the Day)”, by Bing Crosby

  • Dylan has based loads of his songs on other songs.. look it up, Why do you think he produced an album called ‘Love & Theft’ and ‘World gone Wrong’ is a song by mississippi sheiks. I don’t think he’s taking the credit for someone elses work really because he’s changed it… people all get inspiration from other people, And i’m sure Dylan would never deny having been influenced by these songs, he’s played some of them on his radio hour so he can’t be too bothered about getting ‘found out’ :) enough said :)
