Clutch: New Single, Album Art & Tour Dates

Clutch stands as one of the purest rock bands of the past decade but have existed in a relatively unknown capacity due to underpromotion, label issues and Regis Philbin. Damn you Philbin!!! The band will be releasing its follow-up to the brilliant Robot Hive: Exodus on March 20 entitled From Beale Street to Oblivion. In a recent interview Blabbermouth reported that singer Neil Fallon explained the band’s current position, “Musically, we’ve become much more of a rock ‘n’ roll band now, as opposed to being a metal or hardcore one. Our style is riff-oriented, with a swing. It’s never been a calculated move; we just followed our instinct, and that is leading us closer to those bands to whom we listened in our childhood. Bands which are now termed as ‘classic rock.’” And if this means moving closer to rock than Culture Bully’s fourth favorite album of 2005, it will probably end up as a real good thing.

Funny…I’ve been from Beale Street to Oblivion in one night…many times…I lived in downtown Memphis for years. Good thing is, I know this album will sound 40 times better than I ever felt the mornings after those trips…
