The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. Common “I Want You” Video

Submitted by Chris DeLine on October 30, 2007 – 9:00 am2 Comments

For all of its negative criticism, even through Finding Forever’s first three singles I felt that there was something strong buried deep in its essence. But even with the help of Alicia Keys, Kerry Washington, Kanye West, Serena Williams, Derek Luke and Sophia Luke they couldn’t make a rose out of this brutally dull track. Common: stick to rhyming about positivity, strength, power and raising people up…because love songs are not your thing.

The best tracks off Common’s new disc are the non-singles – “black maybe” and “so far to go.”

I think “the people” is pretty bad ass though. His sound reminds me of early 90′ s hip-hop, which is an enormous compliment.

“The People” was fantastic…don’t know why it garnered so much criticism.
