  • Ben says:

I’m not sure what it is that I love about the Libertines so much… I think the rawness of their recordings has something to do with it

  • Rob D. says:

I don’t own anything from the Libertines collection…so I guess if I was going to, this would be it!

  • Chris DeLine says:

Greatest Hits: probably not a set of any given group’s best songs, but a damn good place to start…I’m not overly familiar with The Libertines entire catalog myself, but I suspect that this too is a great place to start.

  • Chris says:

I want this CD as bad as singer Pete Doherty wants Kate Moss.

  • Chris DeLine says:

I wonder if he wants her as much as the lifestyle she affords? Either way, I will note that you indeed want this CD. :-)

  • John says:

While I’ve been much more impressed with pete’s newest Babyshambles release than with their debut, I’ll still always prefer the Libertines. Equal parts garage rawness and catchy-as-hell britpop.

  • Nick Flanders says:

I don’t mean to discredit the body of work of the Libertines, but didn’t they only make like 2 albums and a few Ep’s? Seems like a small body of work to generate a greatest hits CD. I mean why not just make a 2 or 3 CD set of “The Complete Libertines.” Then again that would be something that the public might buy so the record industy wouldn’t want to do that, would they.

  • Chris DeLine says:

Agreed, even Counting Crows put out 4 albums before releasing their Greatest Hits…that’s weak sauce Libertines…weak sauce…

  • Nick Flanders says:

Did the Counting Crows really have any “hits” or was it like a 4 song CD single?

  • Chris DeLine says:

the kids love the Crows…never underestimate the drawing power of a lead singer who once dated that lady from Friends

  • Nick Flanders says:

I always thought it was the hair.

  • Peter says:

Pete’s one of those extremely talented idiots that don’t know how well they have it. Granted if he were smarter or more grateful, maybe he wouldn’t be able to make music as well as he does. Oh, and yes, I’d like to win the disc.
    -Peter

  • Chris DeLine says:

Perhaps his muse isn’t the troubled lifestyle, perhaps the troubled lifestyle is the result of his muse.

If only I knew what that meant.

  • JP says:

I can’t believe that due to Pete Doherty’s drug abuse durings his days with the Libertines that the group wasn’t able to continue to make music.

  • Chelle says:

If you’ve lost your faith in love or music, oh, the end won’t be long.

I miss the Libs, so much.

  • laura says:

my love for the libs is endless.
