Louis Mulkey and the Summerville Green Wave

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m an emotional person. This can be a bad thing (like intentionally turning on a video about J-Mac when I’m schwasted) but it can also be a good thing - like tonight. One of my best friends just lit up my cell phone and dropped some serious heart on me - we talked about our lives and what is quickly becoming one of the most important things in mine (love). So, already on the subject of emotions, Sam left me with a story about a man named Louis Mulkey.

Sam recalled a show he had watched on ESPN, and I’d prefer to let the video speak for itself as those are words that were spoken between friends in private. I will say, however, that things like this make life a little bit better. The other day I wrote to someone, “there is something that defines the courage of a person by their acts of physical endurance,” and while I think that’s true, I also believe that there’s something absolutely phenomenal about the mental endurance of a person. It’s hard to always remember that other people are in fact people - they have lives and they have problems and they have moments of triumph no matter who they may be. Today was a day of triumph for me, and it’s nice to know that there is reason for celebration elsewhere in the world too. Sam, to you sir - Dipset. - Chris DeLine
