Deradoorian “High Road”

Somehow while recording the utterly wonderful Bitte Orca this year with the Dirty Projectors, vocalist/bassist/sample extraordinaire Angel Deradoorian also managed to find the spare time to record her own solo EP under her surname. If you are having a hard time waiting for Orca to come out in June, The Mind Raft drops in just a few days on May 5th, and is also definitely worth your time. And if you can’t wait until then, check out “High Road,” the EP’s first single right now. It features Deradoorian’s smoky alto layered over minimalist keys, punctuated by discordant strings and bit fat bass booms. It’s nearly as lovely as the young woman herself (blush).
