Dr. Dre, Eminem, Jay-Z & 50 Cent “Syllables”

It’s still unknown whether or not the new leak featuring Eminem, Jay, Dre, 50, Stat Quo & Ca$his will land on Detox, but regardless, it’s not likely destined to see much mainstream radio play. The Dre-produced track takes shot after shot at bland lyricism and dumbed-down rap, condemning MCs who only focus on a “hot beat and a catchy hook” and ultimately mocking pop-rappers by inserting their own cheeky “R&B” hook. You Heard That New dates parts of the song back to 2007, and with 50 referencing “In Da Club” and Em’s less-than-timely blast on Ashley Simpson (“And how do we adapt and get TRL votes when 13 year olds control the remote and Ashley’s got a brand new nose”) it’d be hard to figure this as an entirely fresh cut. Regardless, at least 50 shows a little more flash with his verse than he did with his recent contribution to MJ’s new album (though that isn’t really saying much). Despite the recent release of the Joseph Kahn-directed “Kush” video, Detox still has yet to be given a firm release date.

    Author is a hater

    • Who do I hate? 50 Cent? Naw, I don’t hate him.

Only remote mention of putting anyone down here is because of 50′s weak guest appearance on “Monster”… his verse is kind of laughable, actually: “2010 thriller, there’s nothing iller, it’s killer”

eminem sounds like he did back in Encore, slowly working his back to his old style .. just no drugs eminem!!

  • “If we gotta dumb down our style and ABC it then so be it,
cause nowadays these kids, jeez don’t give a shit bout lyrics,
all they wanna hear is a beat and that’s it”
That part is beyond true. Kids these days don’t care about lyrics, as long as they can get wasted and jump up and down, that’s all the matters to them. It’s sad that they don’t appreciate lyrics and the raw emotions behind music.
