El-P on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Submitted by Chris DeLine on August 16, 2007 – 10:00 amNo Comment

Performing on of my favorite tracks from this year’s amazing I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead was El-P last Friday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “Up All Night” shares a similar lyric with Brother Ali’s “Pedrigree,” each thematically offering themselves as one of the best in hip hop this year. Whether it be Ali’s “Shit happens but I’m calm in a shit storm. It’s just normal what you think I balled up this fist for. You probably think I’s born yesterday right? Well mother fucker I stayed up all night” or El-P’s ” I know what lies are like, I might have been born yesterday, sir, but I stayed up all night,” each presents itself as a brash statement of seasoning despite youth – and I love it.
