Fergus & Geronimo “Tell It (In My Ear)”

fergus & geronimo

It seems like each day more and more bands are trying harder than ever to seem like they are not actually trying at all. The latest scuzzy, lo-fi garage rock band to hit the scene are the Denton, TX-based Fergus & Geronimo. The band, who sound like the Stooges playing poppy 1960′s Motown though broken equipment, are gaining attention with their fuzzy melodies and blissfully simple arrangements. The band’s current output is minimal, but what they have released has been great. The drunken, hazy heartbreak of “Harder Than It’s Ever Been,” was released as 7″ single by the great people at Woodsist and is currently sold out (but will be repressed soon). The infectious “Tell It (In My Ear)” will be released by Transparent Records as a 7″ sometime this summer according to the bands MySpace page. Both songs depict a band showing considerable songwriting chops and a knack for wrapping their pop gems in a soft blanket of fuzz, while still sounding like they’re not even trying at all.

  • Can’t tell if you are joking or not, but Woodsist is the shit for sure.
