Swirling, looping electronics introduce “Cosmic Lifeforms,” the latest mashup from Manchester bootleg wizard Gavin Burrell (aka the Reborn Identity). Utilizing “Cosmic Love” from Florence and the Machine, the original is transformed into a densely atmospheric ballad through the use of “Polyrytmi” by Swedish ambient electronic duo Carbon Based Lifeforms. For another Florence mash from the producer, a surprisingly pleasant track interweaving “You’ve Got The Love” with Dierks Bentley’s “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)” is available via Soundcloud.

Think: A soulful sample offset by sensible Kiwi hip hop
Since first moving to New York last year, David Dallas has created a unique name for himself within the city’s hip hop scene. Building off of his confident recordings and mature flow, the Kiwi MC quickly began implementing a steady audio/video release schedule before he was eventually picked up by Duck Down Records. While his new mixtape, titled The Rose Tint, features the likes of Freddie Gibbs and Buckshot, one of the album’s standouts remains the stylistically soulful “Say No More.” The entire release, which was largely recorded and produced in Dallas’ native New Zealand, can be downloaded for free via the MC’s website.
