I enjoyed the album well-enough, but the band’s show at The Entry back in February was horrible. Making matters worse, it was contrasted against the best Yeasayer set I’ve seen to date.

#4) Classic hard rock bands that peaked in the 1980’s
Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed Chinese Democracy, Black Ice and Death Magnetic. I don’t have too many harsh words for any of those albums, but they’re hardly the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Try teling a hardcore AC/DC fan that Angus Young’s use of the slide on “Rainy May Day” isn’t revolutionary… you’ll see what I mean. Good, but significantly overrated.

I’m so happy that MGMT and Black Kids were both mentioned twice. That MGMT show at the entry was the worst I’ve seen in a long time. No encore? Lame. Playing your CD over the PA and acting like jackasses for your single/set closer? So lame.
the worst part is Chase… i’ve seen MGMT twice since then (neither by my choice), and they did the same thing w/ Kids then too, played it over the PA and danced around to it.
they’re the new Dave Matthews Band in terms of fans too, it’s awful.
Yeah, when I was walking by their set at Lollapalooza they were doing the same damn thing, and I went around asking people in the crowd if they knew they weren’t actually playing their instruments. People were stunned!

CSS blows, and MGMT sounds stale and flat live. Q-Tip owns on record, but is even better live.
