Ganglians “Lost Words”

By Josh Keller on August 17, 2009 No Comment

ganglians monster head room

Dream pop band Ganglians have recently released Monster Head Room, the band’s debut full length on the Woodsist record label, and one of the best songs on the disc, “Lost Words,” is largely indicative of the excellent batch of tracks on the album. The song starts off with a mix of birds chirping and swirling vocals before continuing by delving into acid soaked headphone pop as the trippy, breezy track meanders along. Although the group is currently on one of the more heavily buzzed-about record labels, the sound from “Lost Words” wouldn’t have sounded out of place on Elephant 6 back in the label’s late ’90s heyday. With its hazy atmosphere and fuzzed out vocal lines, the song is both trippy and pretty while highlighting the group’s stellar psychedelic chops. Ganglians will be opening for Wavves on their upcoming tour, which features a stop at Minneapolis’ 7th St. Entry in September.
