Last week the highly entertaining Gogol Bordello eclipsed the Ed Sullivan Theater, performing for The Late Show with David Letterman. “It’s like a party at my house” Letterman joked before introducing the group of self proclaimed gypsy punks. With Pamela Racine and Elizabeth Sun energetically dancing and singing about the stage and front man Eugene Hütz wailing equally as hard with his voice as on his guitar the band performed “Wonderlust King” from its recent release Super Taranta! As the song progressed the rest of the act imitated the excitement of the band’s mouthpiece perfectly and demonstrated for the kempt crowd the possibility of how exciting live music can truly be.
