The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. And not having enough sound has never really been a problem for the group, and it certainly wasn’t on this evening as the band tore through a fiery 90 minute set that spanned the band’s entire career.

Hyder Ali “Careless Talk” Release Show @ Turf Club Tonight

Hyder Ali will be hosting a release party for the group’s Careless Talk EP tonight at St. Paul’s Turf Club. Joining the group for the event will be a fantastic lineup including Mel Gibson and the Pants, Kristoff Krane, and Guante & Big Cats! Tickets are $6, the music starts at 9:00 and the night will be hosted by See More Perspectives.

If you miss out tonight, you’re given another chance to catch the group as they play the Depot along with See More Perspectives and 20twelve Collective tomorrow. The event will be opened with an hour long open mic session, followed by the music and an artist Q&A.
