While in town last week in support of the mammoth Polyphonic Spree Jesca Hoop stopped by MPR’s The Current to play a few songs and chat with host Barb Abney. Hoop’s performance this past week was fantastic, accompanied on stage by two keyboardists she casually laid down a set that would make Amy Winehouse fans nostalgic. Her discussion with Adney touched on many points including what Hoop calls “junk food music.” She also goes deeper into her relationship with Tom Waits and the story behind the title of her upcoming album Kismet.
