The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. Kid Dakota & Claw Like Things to Play 400 Bar

Submitted by Chris DeLine on November 11, 2008 – 8:00 amNo Comment

Kid Dakota will be joining Claw Like Things for the band’s Latters of Opportunity EP release show December 5 at the 400 Bar (8:00pm, $5, 18+).

Filling the bill is Mines, a relatively young band with a sunny disposition dressed in infectious, sometimes melodramatic pop that can usher in an audience partial to Sonic Youth or Rilo Kiley. The energetic Action Versus Action, with their melodic and playful guitar-a-thons, will also grace the stage. And lastly, Kid Dakota will chime in with guitar and drum driven arrangements for the already emotionally charged pop songs of Mr. Darren Jackson. The unbridled energy and non-stop rock of this event will make for an extravagant departure from weekday pub shows.
