Lamb of God’s recent performance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien further solidifies the growing evidence that late night television is better catering to their audience. With the recent performance of Mastodon still in mind viewers might just be thinking that there’s something going on in metal these days, and they might be right. That having been said, there seems to be a clash in the camp of the Virgina-based group since the news of the group’s Grammy nomination. Lead singer Randy Blythe did not be attend the award show along side his band mates as a sign of discontent towards the group’s nomination.

Drummer Chris Adler commented on the issue recently to the Times Dispatch saying “Randy, in his own mind, is staying true to his rock roots and boycotting the show. He’s been calling us sellouts in rehearsal. But we never asked for this. As long as we’re creating the music we’re happy with, what other people think is irrelevant. To me, it doesn’t feel like we’ve sold out to anything.” This makes you wonder what the outcome might have been if the group had won the award Sunday night.
