L’atelier de l’esprit: Lisa Papineau

Former Air and M83 collaborator Lisa Papineau makes great strides with her solo debut while maintaining a similar electropop sound to that which she is all too familiar with. Night Moves reflects a sound that can be concluded as one comparative of The Postal Service; a single, white, Postal Service. Though Papineau’s musical history is far broader than the laundry list of her recent collaborative efforts, she seems to have found her niche within that distinct ambient, electo-rock, and that’s quite alright. Her recent move to Paris, to write and record Night Moves, seems to have allowed her a voice that previous guest spots did not. Her voice now embodies a solid, unwavering tenderness, and her words open us up to the workshop of her spirit.
