The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. And not having enough sound has never really been a problem for the group, and it certainly wasn’t on this evening as the band tore through a fiery 90 minute set that spanned the band’s entire career.

The Hold Steady will be returning to Minneapolis, playing the State Theater with Art Brut November 1st. (The Hold Steady)

Wilco will be returning to Minneapolis, playing at the Northrop Auditorium with Dr. Dog in October. (More Cowbell)

Regina Spektor will be playing the Myth October 6th. (Spinner)

Bad Religion will be returning to town, after playing The Warped Tour recently, playing First Avenue October 6. (Punk News)

Hardcore act The Dillinger Escape plan will return to The Cities, playing Station 4 October 7. (SMN News)
