The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. And not having enough sound has never really been a problem for the group, and it certainly wasn’t on this evening as the band tore through a fiery 90 minute set that spanned the band’s entire career.

Jay called him Loopy!
It makes me think Jay doesn’t even know who’s playing till after they’ve performed!
Letterman called him Loopy a few weeks back when he played The Late Show as well…what gives?
I don’t know but Lupe’s “Superstar” was one of the best songs of 2007!

I’m of the belief that it was a great song, absolutely, but in comparison just can’t can’t get over the strength that I heard from Lupe when “Dumb it Down” first dropped.
For me, the strength in “Dumb it Down” is in the beat!
The kicks hit me just in the right spot – my chest.
Agreed on the beat…love some of his simple rhymes though “Make it rain, you make a boat, I make a plane, then I pull the plug and I make it drain…” or however it goes.
I like how that rhyme progresses and tells a “story”.
On a side note, I think its silly that I keep using a keyword for my name even though your blog has nofollow tags on it.
