The largely electronic band’s music automatically conjures up memories of the Postal Service, though they mix in enough acoustic folk to ward off further comparisons to that much-adored group.

Quick roundup of some great mashups from around the web; included are mashups featuring: Marvin Gaye, Lupe Fiasco, Alicia Keys, Aerosmith, M.I.A., Queens of the Stone Age, The Lady Tigra, Justice, Edan, Stereolab, Peter, Bjorn & John, Amy Winehouse and more!

Aggro1 “Marvin Gaye vs. Lupe Fiasco” (via Aggro1)
Aggro1 “You Don’t Know My Sweet Emotion (Aerosmith vs. Alicia Keys)” (via Mashuptown)
ToTom “Ode to M.I.A. (M.I.A. vs. Queens of the Stone Age)” (via ToToM)
DJ Paul V “Phantom on the Bottom (The Lady Tigra vs. Justice)” (via Bootie Blog)
DJ STV SLV “Fumbling Over Modular Words (Edan vs. Stereolab)” (via The Hood Internet)
DJ Topcat “Young Folks in Rehab (Peter, Bjorn & John vs. Amy Winehouse)” (via Mashuptown)

Mashuptown has released an album’s worth of bootlegs commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band entited Sgt. Pepper’s Mid Life Crisis. For the most part it’s contributions from the likes of CCC and Go Home Productions mostly hit or miss, but there are a few solid tracks in mix.

Jimmi Jammes “Sgt. Pepper’s Paradise (Guns N’ Roses vs. The Beatles)”

Lastly, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard Sean Kingston’s “Beautiful Girls” and Hurricane Chris’ “A Bay Bay” on the radio station where I work but suffice it to say that I’ve heard them a few too many times. Then comes along The Hood Internet, ruining a perfectly good hatred that was building deep inside of me by bringing new life to said tracks that had etched their essence in my brain…jerks…

DJ STV SLV “Hurricane Like A Promethean Chris (Hurricane Chris vs. Of Montreal)” (via The Hood Internet)
ABX “Beautiful Girls In Magic Positions (Sean Kingston vs. Patrick Wolf)” (via The Hood Internet)

non-mashup bonus

M.I.A. “Boyz (Wallpaper remix)”
