For what it’s worth, this animated video is directed by David Lynch. (whose Twitter updates are typically fantastic, btw: http://twitter.com/David_Lynch)

Moby talked about the inspiration Lynch had on him through the development of the new album, “David was talking about creativity, and to paraphrase, about how creativity in and of itself, and without market pressures, is fine. it seems that too often creative output is judged by how well it accommodates the marketplace, how much market share it commands and how much money it generates.”

Then again, how much do you have to worry about money when a sizable chunk of your work is already licensed for commercial use?

  • Chris DeLine says:

“David Lynch asks Moby about his forthcoming album due out June 30th 2009. They also talk about the artistic inspiration and influence of old factories.”
