Mocky feat. GZA “Birds of a Feather”

Mocky Gza birds feather

In “Birds of a Feather” The Genius hooks up with Feist’s producer Mocky for what is great track, however unconventional it may seem to many GZA fans. No stranger to unlikely collaborations, GZA collaborated with the Black Lips earlier this year on “The Drop I Hold”, which can be listened to here. GZA Quotable: “They say the early bird gets the worm/Cuz it never has to fight for the crumbs, take flight and turn/Especially the thousand up in the tree all whistlin’/A natural alarm clock for those that’s listening’.”

This is kind of a cool track, but if GZA is screaming BACKPACK on this thing.

  • what a weird song.

i think i would like this more if it were a full GZA song, rather than a single verse surrounded by other stuff. he sounded nice over the beat.

  • Good idea on paper, but folks really seem to love it.

  • So left-field it’s freakin awesome. In the wrong hands this idea could be super-cheesy, but it strays on the right side of cool.
