The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. And not having enough sound has never really been a problem for the group, and it certainly wasn’t on this evening as the band tore through a fiery 90 minute set that spanned the band’s entire career.

In the spirit of that, I’d like to introduce some of the best mash-ups that I’ve come across for the week ending Monday, June 19, 2006. As always, they’re not for everyone, but for those who still like ‘em, enjoy.br /br /a href=”http://interteneremedia.typepad.com/Aggro1-FearFactory_Scumgriefv_PinkGetThisPartyStarted.mp3″Aggro 1 “Pink Party Factory (Pink vs. Fear Factory)”/a span style=”font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 0, 0);”(mp3)/spanbr /a href=”http://artyfufkin.com/barrellofagoo.mp3″Arty Fufkin “Barrel of Goo (Beastie Boys vs. Sonic Youth)”/a span style=”font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 0, 0);”(mp3)/spanbr /a href=”http://interteneremedia.typepad.com/c.h.a.o.s.productions-kinkypark.mp3″DJ Jay-R “Kinky Park (Jay-Z vs. The Kinks)”/a span style=”font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 0, 0);”(mp3)/spanbr /a href=”http://interteneremedia.typepad.com/FATBOYSLIMVSSHAGGY.mp3″DJ Nicky-T “Shaggy Fat Boy (Shaggy vs. Fatboy Slim)”/a span style=”font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 0, 0);”(mp3)/span

Fashionably Canadian…BR/BR/U.S.A.!! U.S.A.!!BR/BR/That’s right CBC the U.S.A is the new Canada (in hockey at least). The Carolina Hurricanes of the U.S.A dominated game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals to beat the Edmonton Oilers of Canada. I thought this was the one thing Canadians were better at than Americans. Guess not. Great Americans like Aaron Ward (b. Ontario) and Justin Williams (b. Ontario) helped guide the United States Hurricanes to a crushing victory over the Canada Oilers. Not to mention the brilliant goalkeeping of Cam Ward (b. Alberta). Eat it Canuck!! The GW goal was also scored by a true American hero, Frantisek Kaberle (b. Czechoslovakia). So Canada, take the back seat to the good ol’ U.S.A. again. Now we own YOUR sport (not to mention your dignity). Next Stop: World Cup.BR/BR/U.S.A.!! U.S.A.!!
