Mr. Hefty Fine & Roger’s Phantom Ruddebegga

Submitted by Chris DeLine on November 7, 2005 – 1:43 pm4 Comments

This past weekend, we found ourselves back down to Byron’s in Pomeroy, Iowa to see Rob Lumbard jam out. Were we rocked? It’s a given. But, I met this guy Roger, he’s the guy who took the photo of Mr. Hefty Fine (for the Bloodhound Gang’s latest album “Hefty Fine”). He’s a blast, and a hell of an interesting guy. He was gracious enough to give me a picture of the first comic that ever got him kicked out of school: The Phantom Ruddebegga (that’s right kids, he’s so X-treme that he doesn’t even follow the rules laid forth by so called “reference books” like dictionaries). Oh, sidenot, it turns out that the guy in the picture is named Carlin Langley and he’s a gay bear.

  • Sorry to bust your bubble, but I’m Carlin Langley, and YES, that IS me in the Bloodhound Gang CD cover, but the picture was NOT taken by anyone names Roger or from Iowa… it was taken by the assistant of the band named HOLMES from Philadelphia, PA. I know, because I was there!! :-)

  • OH!! and BY THE WAY… I’m NOT a PORN STAR!! But I AM a GAY BEAR! And the picture on the right showing me pointing at the poster with me on it, was taken by MY PHONE CAMERA as the album was about to come out.

  • Rob Lumbard says:

We’ve got to get to the bottom of this.Roger COULD have made the whole thing up but that would be nearly unbelievable. Why would he?

  • Chris DeLine says:

I don’t know Rob–last time I was down there I asked Roger about it and he stuck by his word. You’re right though, it’s not like he has anything to gain by coming up with the story… on the other hand, hard to argue with the subject of the photoshoot.
