The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. And not having enough sound has never really been a problem for the group, and it certainly wasn’t on this evening as the band tore through a fiery 90 minute set that spanned the band’s entire career.

Think I watched this a dozen times last night–rhyming about baseball and Miley Cyrus, marking on 50 Cent and bitin a Rick Ross beat… man, throw in some carrots and add water and baby, you got yourself a stew.
I love Murs, thanks for posting this. Why hasn’t “Murs for President” blown up yet? Maybe this year’s Paid Dues will change that.
Of course he was going to put in his two cents. He’s from LA, and these other guys are romanticizing old rap wars.
There are no winners in a battle between 50 Cent & Rick Ross… it’s fortunate for the both of them that Murs shook a few verses out of his sleeve and took a bit of focus off of how weak their sauce is.
