I think that I may have a heart attack. This "MMM" has completely turned my life upside down with his arrogance. You little cock goblin. I graduated Suma Cum Laude with a B.A. in English Literature, and even I am disgusted with you and grammar crutches. This blog is about the recent My Morning Jacket release. While you hyperventilate over comma splices, you forget to write on topic. You must be well aware of what this is called. Irony. Irony, my little punctuation punce.

Can't say that I've ever thought of MMJ as a country version of Radiohead...interesting thought though I'm still not sure it works.

After many listens, I find the album to be incredible. Its most powerful moment has to be the end of "Smokin' From Shootin." Ive heard people say MMJ is the country version of Radiohead and honestly the way they're going, I might agree. "Smokin From Shootin" is pure "The Tourist" off of OK Computer. With that in mind, I think it was a mistake to not make it the last song on the album. I understand why they end it the way they do, but I think "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Part 2" should really have been before Shootin.

Sorry my words didn't make the grade this time around. Perhaps I should give up my hopes and dreams of starting that literary blog I've been fantasizing about.

Aside from all that, did you happen to listen to the music?

Wow. Actually learning to write would improve your blog greatly. In the first paragraph you mean "complement," not "compliment." In the second you mean "between me and the band," not "myself." This is called a dangling modifier: "Not having been a fan for too long at the time, the almost innocent voice..." I'm sure Jim James is sorry to hear that his voice not been a fan of the band for long. Look up "comma splice" in a style manual immediately: there are far too many of them in this grade-school book-report-level "review" for me to single out just one. Learn to use semi-colons & quotation marks; you seem to be guessing how these work, & guessing badly. This is just sad.

It's a fantastic song, I would never argue with you on that...the harmony really sounds like something MMJ would do, though...all the same I think you're dead on with the comment that it's easy to pass by...it sounds so natural despite being quite the outlier in the band's catalog.

I'm flabbergasted that people aren't talking more about "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream (1)" it's just so Roxy Music. Don't get me wrong I love the rest of the album, but as people talk about the strange-funk of Highly Suspicious this very casual throwback to intricate late-70's, early-80's synthpop isn't given the attention it deserves.

And it's just a hot song.
