Sometimes I don’t know whether I’m going mad or if Nas’s music has lost what many people claim it to still have. Lyrically “Can’t Forget About You” is simply not as solid as what he would like us to believe and whether or not this bodes a negative future for commercial hip hop isn’t a question any more, because the version that once strayed commercially into a realm of lyrical bliss may in fact be dying or may already be dead.
