What’s Good in Nashville? Paul Simon, JEFF the Brotherhood & Kings of Leon

Kings of Leon are headlining some Coca-Cola-sponsored Final Four event next month.

• More coverage of Turbo Fruits & the Bruise Cruise is surfacing: Brooklyn Vegan has a two part photo gallery & review (part 1 | part 2) & Noisevox has a highlight reel video (via Rebecca Seung). Also, in case you missed it, the Black Lips filmed a music video while aboard the cruise for “Go Out and Get It!

• Are you wicked rad at creating videos? Would you like an iPad 2 (aka Not your grandpa’s iPad™)? Ten out of Tenn‘s Trent Dabbs might have you covered as he’s running a contest where entrants who submit a music video for “Leave to See” are entered to win such a prize. Click here for more info.

The Daily Times and Our Stage talk to Tristen.

Nashy’s Dead has one final Freakin’ Weekend preview video featuring JEFF the Brotherhood. The weekend’s festivities kick off with a show tonight at Exit/In featuring Diarrhea Planet, Jacuzzi Boys & Cy Barkley. Show starts at 9; see you there.

• The least essential video of the day: Ke$ha tattoos a fan. Also, remember that new song that Ke$ha wrote for Britney Spears that wasn’t supposed to come out until the 14th? It leaked.

• CB’s not exactly the Internet’s #1 destination for country music commentary, but this Associated Press article about the Country Radio Seminar is something worth checking out. (Dap to The Daily Swarm for the heads up.)

• As if you needed one more good reason to show up: Dee Goodz has been added to Questlove‘s upcoming show at Mai.

• The Kopecky Family Band have a video from last night’s I’m Still Beautiful Benefit Fashion show at Mercy Lounge.

Paul Simon‘s playing the Ryman in May.

• NPR’s World Cafe profiles Wanda Jackson.

• Lastly, a quick shout out to Titus Jones, whose Culture Shock release (which dropped earlier this week) received a shout out from the New York Post today.

Also, in case you missed out on any What’s Good in Nashville? updates this week, here’s a brief recap: Monday (Questlove, Useless Eaters & Titus Jones), Tuesday (Bruise Cruise, Dee Goodz, Tristen & Prophicy), Wednesday (Those Darlins, Rites of Spring & Blastoids) & Thursday (Ke$ha vs. Britney, Freakin’ Weekend & Classic Williams).

Chris, I love the video! Thanks! Were they ever that young? Was I? I wanta try to get to the Ryman show! Thanks also for the link to the Wanda Jackson NPR piece! Amazing!

    • The man’s still going strong (apparently).

Really enjoyed seeing Wanda perform at Third Man with Jack White… she was great, but I have to admit that my enjoyment of the night was largely due to seeing Jack White perform at Third Man.
