What’s Good in Nashville? Jack White does SXSW & new mixtapes

Here’s what’s good in Nashville for Thursday, March 17, 2011.

• The saving grace of not actually being at SXSW is that when something mindblowingly trill happens there are countless people on the beat to document the moment. Yesterday the good people of Third Man Records unveiled their new Rolling Record Store in Austin, christening the mobile shop with performances from Seasick Steve & “Third Man Recording artist” Jack White. Interested in checking out some first-hand commentary on the performance? You got it: Consequence of Sound (who also cover a set from Tristen), Antiquiet, Pitchfork, CNN, HitFix, Popeater & the NY Times (who also interviewed White pre-performance) all have accounts of the set.

• DJ Sir Swift & DJ Legacy released a new mixtape today. Aside from the mainstream names, Venus vs. Mars also includes a track from local artists Finess DaBoss & Dave Lucci.

• IceMan’s also got a new mix out; iPod Don can be downloaded here.
