Neil Young: “Families” Video

Submitted by Chris DeLine on August 23, 2006 – 10:11 amNo Comment

The second release in a string of videos that will ultimately be released as a DVD is “Families,” one of the most touching on Young’s Living With War. One of the truest to form grunge songs on the album, “Families” comes as an honestly emotional experience, combining visuals of wars effects with Young’s voice. In this song his words represent the reality that there are not only families here in America scared as hell of losing someone they love, but, yes, those that are fighting against American soldiers, too, have families that are just as terrified of the consequences of war affecting their bonds. Or at least that’s what I get out of it.
