It’s probably a good thing that Jack White has so many side projects going on right now. This way he might not being offended when fans of the White Stripes realize that the Fiery Furnaces have claimed the throne as the reigning power house duo of indie rock.

NEW Daft Punk! “Too Long/Steam Machine”

From a performance in Bercy, Paris this past June comes “Too Much/Steam Machine” from Daft Punk’s forthcoming live album Alive 2007. The duo’s second live album boasts a tremendous track list featuring roughly thirty songs – and with the group’s elevated profile the past few months due to high profile shows such as Coachella, the album should be amazing. One of the new (new live, that is) tracks from the performance is “Too Much/Steam Machine,” a brilliant flowing song that offers a nice reflection of where the act is at right now.

This is not a new song. It is two Daft Punk songs played together. “Too Long” is from Discovery and “Steam Machine” is from Human After All.

  • Chris DeLine says:

But they have not played them together on an album…haha

Suppose I should change that from NEW new, to just new – as in a new live version on the album…thanks for the heads up

This is amazing. This duo really lost me once HAA hit stores, but in the last year they’ve taken over not only my world, but the entire electronica world. This has to be one of the most sought after live albums of recent times, if not only because they are so high profile when it comes to their infamous live shows.

  • Chris DeLine says:

I couldn’t agree more – I think that with Justice’s insurgence into the mainstream market there has been a rejuvenation of high profile electronic acts…Cassius to a lesser degree and Daft Punk for sure. I’d be really interested in seeing if a DVD release accompanied this in the future, that would be amazing.
