The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. And not having enough sound has never really been a problem for the group, and it certainly wasn’t on this evening as the band tore through a fiery 90 minute set that spanned the band’s entire career.

(1) “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” Vinyl Single

The contest open to US residents only (sorry international friends!) entrants WORLDWIDE! – to enter simply leave a note in the comments section – maybe a comment about how pissed off you get when people get wasted at Halloween parties and brag about their “original” costumes, or maybe your take on whether or not the Red Sox should utilize the Dropkick Murphys again on their way to the World Series title (don’t forget to enter your email address, which won’t be shown publicly, so I can get in touch with you!). One person will be chosen at random & the contest ends next Saturday night, so…if you see this post on Sunday, November 3, 2007 and would like to enter…my friend, you are too late.

  • Gaby says:

I WANT IT… WHY DO I LIVE IN FRANCE?

  • Marc Brubaker says:

Because my vinyl addiction demands that I get it… and it’s an expensive enough addiction as is, so… please?

  • webby says:

because I’m the only qualified person to win your vinyl :)

    stay madferit!

  • Chris DeLine says:

webby – it appears you are in fact overqualified…nice site…good luck

  • Gus says:

    I’m massive fan.
My brother translate all their news in spanish for all the people who speaks that language. (That makes one of the best pages in all Latín America)

    ***************
The only thing i can say about halloween is that a long time ago when i was a teenager i dressed myself as a mummy ( with toilet paper) imagine a guy walking on the street ( naked ) only with toilet paper all over his body… well that was me, those were the wonder years.

( The bad thing is that everytime i was walking i was leaving paper on the street, more, and more, then i started running

  • Matt says:

Come on guys, Canada’s not far from the US… and I guess I’m the only one here to have the Gallagher bros complete collection… well, so far since I don’t have that vinyl ;-)

  • Ali says:

Why is it that Halloween has become the one day of the year when girls everywhere think they should dress like prostitutes? And I’m not just talking about the ones wearing a bonafide “prostitute” costume. {If the party calls for Pimps n’ Hoes than by all means dress like a ho.} No longer are girls dressing up as the classical princesses, witches, girl scouts, ballerinas or snow white. The costumes now are Sexy witch, Sexy Snow White…there is even a Sexy Nun costume! Am I the only one who doesn’t understand? I have no problem with the classic “sexy” costumes like nurse, catwomen or she-devil. But somehow a sexy nun costume is pushing the whole “dress up like a whore w/out techinically wearing a whore costume” way too far. Halloween should be about the opportunity to be creative and original; not just an excuse to go to the club wearing a tutu and fishnets calling your self a “naughty ballerina.”

  • Chris says:

Culture Bully – my “oasis” in a desert of dry, hot blogs.

  • Chris DeLine says:

Ali – agreed…though I must say, I like your naughty ballerina idea. :-)

  • HECTOR says:

    GLORY TO THE GIANTS.
    GLORY TO OASIS….

  • Cynthia says:

I’m not quite sure why there are so many of these blog contests, but I do know that I’d much rather have a vinyl version of Lord Don’t Slow Me Down than 4.1 MB one…seems to me, that Noel (who doesn’t even have a computer) has forgotten his loyal fans…

  • Seth says:

    Ooooh…me wants!

  • BrAdIpO says:

i have that vinyl..but he is too precious
