The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. And not having enough sound has never really been a problem for the group, and it certainly wasn’t on this evening as the band tore through a fiery 90 minute set that spanned the band’s entire career.

Pearl Jam: Saturday Night Live 04/15/06

I was planning on catching the show last night just to see the band play, but my attention span got in the way of things and by the time the show came on, I was completely not about it. Still, thanks internet! I’ve ripped the tracks into audio in case anyone wants them…check it out!

    I watched this live last night. The band had the opportunity to do something great and knock it out of the park. Instead, I felt like they kinda phone it in. It was good – but uninspiring to me.

    agreed. This is the greatest band ever. Severed hand will be an instant classic.

    They proved to be the “has beens” that anyone who has purchased any of their last few records knows they are. The fact of the matter is we all are hoping for some of that old magic, but in the end thats all that is, is wishful thinking. They’re done.
