While I can firmly say that I hope this isn’t the direction the Strokes go, Phrazes for the Young is a strong statement by an artist who clearly isn’t afraid to take chances.

OMG… that was the best thing I have heard all day!

  • Chris DeLine says:

Never have I doubted your taste Barb, and I won’t here either… out of nowhere Stef crushes the song, how cool is that?

  • Moe says:

    This is so awesome.

  • Chris DeLine says:

    Saw this today:

“I was asked if I was interested in covering a pearl jam song by mtv2. I thought it was funny that they wanted to include me, being a rapper and all, but I wanted to take a shot at it. I loved ten when it came out, rocked the tape till it popped. One of my favorites on it was why go, none of the bands they asked had picked it yet so I did. I though about reworking the original lyrics into a rap kind of situation, but then I was playing the melody on one of my keyboards and thought it might be more fun to just straight cover it. So I did. It was fun. I hope you likes it.” – P.O.S

If only we could get an Alice in Chains cover out of him I would know true contentment.

  • Mike says:

Wow! When he warned about the auto-tune I was expecting to hear some terrible auto-tune pearl jam. He’s got a great voice and it fits very well with Eddie Vedder’s range.

    Nice one!

  • doesn't matter says:

    REFRESHING

  • Garrett says:

I liked that a lot. Hell yea there’s no autotune in grunge…how could we tell if you really meant what you said if it was hidden under perfect, lifeless notes?

About half-way through when he starts relaxing a little more with the singing…good stuff!

  • Mills says:

I’m a hard core PJ fan and that was awesome.
