Though much of the news concerning the pre-confirmed line-ups for Bonnaroo and Coachella set the internet on fire last week with names being thrown around including Tom Waits, Björk, Pearl Jam, The Arcade Fire, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Rage Against the Machine much of the confusion has settled down and the initial hype is beginning to fade away, now being replaced by factual confirmations. But one of the most interesting sets announced still looks to be a go, that featuring the reunion of Rage Against the Machine. I was, and still am, skeptical of whether this set will actually take place, however if it works out I would love nothing more than a full fledged tour as it would give me a chance to see a band that I have respected for years live and in living color.

For those attending either of the festivals, you are in for something special, and for those who want to but can’t: here’s hoping that some of the acts appearing decide to visit you and your city. In the meantime, here’s a look back at what has made Rage Against the Machine one of the most influential bands of our generation.
