Reminder: Speak.Justice @ Music Box Theater Tomorrow

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow evening the Music Box Theater in Minneapolis will be holding the homecoming (of sorts) for the recently-named 2009 National Poetry Slam champion team from St. Paul. Speak.Justice acts not only as a homecoming for the team, but also as a fundraiser for the Kibera Girls’ Soccer Academy (KGSA). Kibera, Kenya, is one of the largest slums in the world and the KGSA is located there. All proceeds from the show will go to this unique school which mixes academics, athletics and the arts in a revolutionary way to help young women become leaders and catalysts for change in their community. Also performing alongside members of the St. Paul “Soap Boxing” team (aka – the aforementioned national champions) will be the Minneapolis National Poetry Slam team, the Quest for the Voice MN youth poetry slam team, See More Perspective and Ryan Sarafolean. Again, the event will be held tomorrow at the Music Box Theater (1407 Nicollet Avenue). The show will run 7-9, $5, all ages, and there is additional parking located at Emerson School.
