Like many reviews around the internet many of my friends condemn Under The Blacklight, calling it a poor effort from a great band. To those people I say…maybe you’re right. But I have never listened to More Adventurous, The Execution of All Things or Take-Offs and Landings, so I really don’t have a starting point with which to compare the band. Is “Silver Lining” a bad song? No, of course not. Jenny Lewis is as gorgeous as her voice is beautiful and the band provides a loosely-rhythm and blues based backdrop to the song. What’s wrong with that?
