Slayer played the band’s first network television spot last Friday on Jimmy Kimmel Live in front of an audience of over one thousand fans. Though the band’s latest politically fueled album Christ Illusion has sold only 150k albums to date the band’s following seems stronger now than ever with its recently reunited original line-up.
Fans who showed up to the taping (who are rumored to have started lining up at 9:00 am) were treated to a six song set including the aired “Eyes of the Insane,” “Jihad,” “Mandatory Suicide,” “War Ensemble,” “Dead Skin Mask,” and “Raining Blood.”
While this marks the first time the band has been on network television, Slayer has performed on a few shows over the years; one such appearance being on The Jon Stewart Show back in 1995.

“Like that [Timberlake] song ‘Sexyback’. I get exposed to those songs through my kids and through my wife. When I heard that song I thought it wasn’t really that bad a song, then I saw the video and listened to the words and realized that he’s poking fun at all the other guys that haven’t done shit, so now he’s got to bring sexy back because nobody else can do it!
